Tribal Foundation supports: KMS Nursery and Primary School, India
Despite efforts to develop the education system in India, literacy levels remain below 75%. Access, equity and quality of education continue to be major issues as a result of widespread poverty and prejudice.
Kairali Mahila Samajam (KMS) was set up for the development and empowerment of marginalised and resource-poor communities, in particular women and children.
The Kairali Nursery and Lower Primary School has over 150 pupils from disadvantaged and vulnerable communities. The school’s main objective is to provide a safe and comfortable environment that is conducive to learning and growth. Our donation helped achieve this by funding a computer lab, a library, recreation facilities, safe drinking water and sanitation.
Not only will these facilities benefit the children, but they will also increase school enrolment, so the school can become self-supporting and less dependent on external grants.
