Background
As an award-winning provider of further and higher education services, The Sheffield College required a solution to meet an increased customer demand for online services including course information, and facilities for online enrolment and payments.
The college looked to engage in a project that also offered a practical solution for improving the learner experience and customer service, and so worked with Tribal on the implementation of the ebs4 learner portal solution.
Meeting the requirement
As an existing user of the ebs4 student record system, The Sheffield College worked with Tribal to implement the ebs4 learner portal solution which offered further online enhancements to the existing system.
During the first enrolment using the new system, the college took 1,250 enrolments across 220 courses. Courses at some college sites were fully subscribed within two days, and the online service saved learners’ time and reduced travel costs to enrolment centres.
Based on the success of the project, the college is working to extend its use of on-line enrolment to cover more courses, include online pre-enrolment assessments, or provide self service kiosks in college sites for students to self-enrol.
Tribal’s ebs4 learner portal solution has improved the way the college delivers enrolments, enabling tutor and staff expertise to be channelled in improvements in other areas. The solution gives learners concise information to allow them to make more informed decisions and enables the college to deliver enrolment in a more learner focused way and to keep upto date with new technology.
