That's all folks! Tribal's Empower Conference 2019 is a wrap!

On 16-17th July, Tribal hosted the second Empower Conference at the ICC, Birmingham. The event offered customers from the higher education, further education, skills, training and employers sectors an opportunity to gain insights into the world of education from the 60 hours' worth of content given by our inspirational speakers, that’s 2 hours short of the entire eight seasons of Game of Thrones!

The agenda fell over two days, with over 60 breakout sessions, 28 product showcase sessions and 12 exhibitors. Attracting almost 600 delegates, it was our most successful event yet! We welcomed customers from across the world too, including Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Malta and Ireland.

The two days sparked a lot of intrigue and conversation, with insights such as ‘65% of children starting primary school now will end up with jobs we've never heard of’, from Professor Liz Barnes, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Staffordshire University, opening everyone’s minds to the future of education.

The plenary sessions discussed subjects such as ‘Education and the cloud’, with Chris Tromans from Amazon Web Services and Richard Knapp from University of Bristol and ‘The future of Tribal Cloud solutions for further education and skills’ with Graham Minshull, offering varied perspectives across all sectors. Whilst the breakout sessions covered topics such as ‘Getting apprenticeships right’ and ‘Using tech for Wellbeing’.

Feedback from the event has been extremely positive so far, with one delegate questioning “Is it always this good?!”. The Empower conference app was a huge success, with hundreds of delegates using the app to engage with others throughout the two days. Without a doubt, the ‘Tribal’s Treats’ stand was one of the most popular aspects of the event, with many queuing to find out what they could exchange their app points for. Not forgetting our Tribal branded t-shirts, who knew our logo was so fashionable!

The evening was celebrated in style with a gala dinner and live performances from Greatest Showman musical cabaret, with fire performers and aerial artist with many guests dancing late into the night. It was also our second year of the Empower awards, giving us the chance to thank our customers who have made the best use of Tribal's solutions and services to better serve their institutions and learners in the past 12 months.
