Leonardo awarded highest grade for new apprenticeships provider

Leonardo MW Ltd (Leonardo) designs and manufactures a large range of products including helicopters and electronic systems for military applications and is among the top 10 global players in the fields of aerospace, defence and security.

After a recent monitoring visit by Ofsted, Leonardo, a Tribal customer, was awarded the highest possible grade for a new apprenticeship provider.

The report,  which states 'Leaders and managers have sound processes in place that enable them to monitor apprentices’ progress very effectively.', highlights Leonardo's efforts to monitor, track and support its apprentices (using Maytas, Tribal's market leading learner management solution).

The report also goes on to praise Leonardo for its safeguarding efforts (they have lower than average age apprentices) and to commend them for the diversity within their apprenticeship programmes (apprentices, managers and trainers work tirelessly to encourage more young people, especially woman, to consider a career in aviation and engineering).

We spent the day with Leonardo recently to see how they run their apprenticeship programme.
