12 Years of Success for Adult Social Care Data Collection

Posted by Admin

Since 2007, Tribal has worked alongside Skills for Care to build and support the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC), an online data collection service designed to collect information about the adult social care workforce in England.

Used by all 152 local authorities in England, the NMDS-SC captured the Local Authorities Workforce returns on behalf of the Health and Social Care Information Centre.

Now, after 12 years of success, the NMDS-SC is the leading source of workforce information for the whole of the adult social care sector. With its success comes its inevitable evolution as the NMDS-SC will become the Adult Social Care (ASC) Workforce Data Set service.

Speaking of the success of the NMDS-SC, Skills for Care CEO, Andy Tilden said,

"I wanted to offer my personal thanks for all that has been achieved with the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care since we first started working with Tribal in 2007. We've built a strong relationship with each other over the years, and Tribal staff have always gone above and beyond. This is a project that has been a real success, and has been held in high esteem within the Department for Health and Social Care."

On behalf of Tribal, Commercial Director, Graham Barton commented,

“The collaborative partnership that Tribal and Skills for Care created has meant that collecting workforce data within social care is now helping to inform key decisions around how care is delivered.  This is positively impacting lives and is something that we've been proud to be part of. We now look forward to seeing Skills for Care succeed with the next phase of their journey, with the ASC– Workforce Data Set service”.

Skills for Care aims to improve workforce intelligence across the Social Care community by creating a well-led, skilled and valued adult social care workforce in England.
