Changes at i-graduate
Last updated: 23/10/2017
Phil Sanders has been appointed to lead i-graduate and Tribal Analytics from April 1 2017. After 12 years at the helm of i-graduate, latterly on the executive board of Tribal Group, founder Will Archer has decided to step down from the role and will leave the company at the end of March.
Will plans to pursue research interests around the business of higher education focusing initially on scholarship strategies and competitive pricing while investing in new ventures, supporting leadership teams and advising business owners. He will continue to support i-graduate informally and will stay on the board of the Observatory.
I am delighted that i-graduate has made a difference to so many organisations and continues to do so. Powered by a small but amazing group of people, it has become a part of the way education providers across the world make better-informed decisions, particularly in international higher education. I have loved almost every minute of the journey. Now, supported and strengthened by Tribal Group, it is the right time for the founder to step down and make way for the next generation of leadership.
Having worked with Phil over four years, I believe he is the right man to lead the team and the business to further growth and great achievements, bringing as he does a great combination of intelligence and pragmatism, together with extensive knowledge of the complementary technologies and services across Tribal.
I'm excited at the prospect of taking over from Will working with the i-grad and analytics team in what is a very successful business. Insight provided by the i-grad surveys is greatly valued by global institutions. There are significant opportunities to grow the business by combining surveys with Tribal's wider portfolio and analytics products to help education providers inform decision making, and realise more value from their student management information and learner data.
Ian Bowles, Chief Executive, Tribal Group:
Under Will’s leadership i-graduate has been delivering comparative insights to the education sector since 2005, helping institutions deliver a world-class student experience to enhance their competitive advantage. Phil’s experience and approach is the perfect counterpart to ensure our continued success partnering providers in this dynamic market.
Jamie Taylor continues to lead the UK-based team and central operations. In Australia Kevin Brett hands over to Stephen Connelly, former DVC at RMIT. Other regions remain unchanged. The OBHE continues to be led by Richard Garrett, with the advisory board chaired by Professor Sir Drummond Bone.
i-graduate tracks and benchmarks student and stakeholder opinions across the student journey, from prospective students to alumni. Established in 2005, i-graduate has obtained feedback from 2.9 million students and worked with 1,400 institutions in over 33 countries. i-graduate runs the world’s largest survey of international student satisfaction - the International Student Barometer - as well as surveys of domestic students, TNE students and distance learners, English language learners, recent graduates and education agents. New for 2017, i-graduate have launched the Postgraduate Surveys PTES and PRES internationally, and the Global Education Profiler tool. In August 2010 the Observatory on Borderless Higher Education joined i-graduate. In December 2012 i-graduate was acquired by Tribal Group PLC.
