Tribal is proud to have been chosen to provide their leading Student Management Information System ebs to The National College for High Speed Rail. This new college will open soon as part of an initiative to train a technically skilled workforce to support Britain’s future high speed rail industry.
The National College for High Speed Rail will provide the training, skills and qualifications required to build, operate and maintain the HS2 railway and future rail projects. HS2 will improve Britain’s rail network and provide a real boost to the economy, supporting up to 100,000 jobs nationwide and 2,000 apprenticeships. The college, spread over two campuses in Birmingham and Doncaster, is on track to open its doors to students in September 2017.
As a new college, The National College for High Speed Rail need to be able to easily track students’ progress and effectively manage their student administration. As a provider of apprenticeships, they needed a system that could help support their requirement of submitting ILRs (Individualised Learner Records).
The National College for High Speed Rail selected Tribal’s ebs and hosting service, encompassing several integrated products from the ebs family. The college will have a flexible and effective solution that supports the recording and management of student information, from enrolment to graduation.
The college will focus on practical and virtual learning and will be open to a wide range of people, from new entrants to mature students, from career changes to apprentice rail engineering students.
Miranda Coles, Head of Commercial Finance at The National College for High Speed Rail said:
“We were impressed with ebs because of its reputation and the administrative time and costs the system should save us. Our staff will have more time to focus on our curriculum and students, to accomplish our mission to produce a new generation of highly skilled professionals to lead Britain’s rail industry.”
Mike Plackett, Account Director for Further Education at Tribal said:
“We are delighted to be working with this new college, The National College for High Speed Rail represents an exciting movement to train the workforce that Britain needs for the future. We look forward to starting implementation to support their launch later this year.”
