UCLan select Maytas to manage their degree apprenticeship provision

Posted by Tribal Group

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has recently joined a growing number of universities to select Tribal’s leading learner management solution (LMS), Maytas, to manage their degree apprenticeship provision. UCLan offers a diverse range of degree apprenticeships from software engineering to digital marketing to social work.

Degree apprenticeships combine working with studying part-time at a university where students can achieve a full bachelor’s (Level 6) or master’s degree (Level 7) as part of their apprenticeship. These programmes are developed by employers, universities and professional bodies working in partnership.

There are many challenges for universities providing degree apprenticeships based around funding, subcontracting, lack of clear guidelines, standards and quality. This is where Tribal can help.

The solution: Maytas

Maytas gives apprenticeship providers, like UCLan, a single, accurate view of every aspect of the organisation’s learning. The Learner Management Solution (LMS) takes the strain and stress out of manual processes such as funding returns and can provide you with all the information you need to make informed business decisions that better the outcomes of your learners.

Maytas is a nationally used, secure and well-established system, this means Tribal customers know their data, finances and apprentices are in good hands. Tribal will continue to maintain the system in accordance with any statutory changes.

James Cooke, Business Development Manager for Tribal, comments:

‘We are delighted to be working with UCLan on their degree apprenticeship provision. Tribal is in a unique place to support organisations with their funding drawdown through ILR submissions. Tribal’s focus is Student Management Systems in Higher Education, Further Education and the workplace and so we have systems and experience in all these spaces. Maytas is specifically built to manage apprenticeships funding and is therefore fully compliant with the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s requirements.’

Ian Filbin, Project Manager for UCLan, said:

‘We were impressed by the capabilities of Maytas to perform the ILR to maximise the ESFA funding. Investment in our degree apprenticeship provision is critical to ensure success for all our students and we look forward to a future with the support and expertise of Tribal.’
