5.30 sees us roll-out a host of new funding system functionality for training providers in England and Wales in line with the requirements of the DfE & LLWR, as well as an expanded reporting library and numerous system enhancements. Below you'll find full details of what's new.
MAYTAS 5.30 introduces new Individualised Learner Record (ILR) and Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR) tabs and reports. These updates enable more robust, compliant data collection and analysis, ensuring accurate audits and a clear operational overview consistent with regulatory demands.
The release implements new rollover validation rules to support a smooth transition from 2024/25 to 2025/26. These rules are engineered to uphold data integrity and ensure ongoing compliance throughout the rollover period.
Funding allocations will now be carried forward using existing 2024/25 rules during the 2025/26 rollover, streamlining financial projections and supporting uninterrupted funding forecasts for planning purposes.
Key export updates were developed to reflect updated Department of Education requirements. These changes guarantee accurate, timely, and compliant submissions — reducing the risk of rejected data and streamlining regulatory reporting.
Effective August 2025, the Department of Education’s approach to Off-The-Job (OTJ) Training is evolving. Instead of requiring providers to calculate minimum hours per standard manually, a set minimum number of hours will be assigned to each apprenticeship standard.
To accommodate these changes, MAYTAS 5.30 features a dedicated table to house and manage standard-specific hours. Providers can now assign these values directly to learners, automating compliance while retaining flexibility for learners who began apprenticeships before the August 2025 cut-off (who remain eligible for manual calculation). This dual approach supports accurate delivery and reporting, ensuring every learner — old and new — is tracked appropriately.
To ensure seamless adoption of the updated ILR specification, lookup fields have been revised in MAYTAS 5.30. Notably, references to “ESFA” have been replaced with “DfE” for ACTCode and related designations, mirroring changes in the national policy and facilitating uniformity across all data points.
MAYTAS 5.30 features an updated Reports Library, designed to capture and reflect all changes made to the ILR and related fields. These optimised reports ensure that your organisation can quickly access the most accurate, relevant data and generate outputs that are fully aligned with current specifications.
We’ve prioritised user experience and security with significant updates in both MAYTAS and the MAYTAS Hub, responding directly to community feedback:
