Lancaster Training Services Ltd (LTS) has been delivering high-quality driver and transport training across the North West since 1968.
As a registered charity and approved Apprenticeship Training Provider, their mission is to equip learners with industry-relevant skills that lead to real employment outcomes.
With apprenticeships in Light and Heavy Vehicle Mechanics and a wide range of industrial training, LTS has built a reputation for excellence over more than five decades.
But as their apprenticeship programmes expanded, so did the administrative burden. Managing learner data, funding claims, and compliance requirements using spreadsheets and paper-based systems became increasingly inefficient.
“We were spending too much time chasing data and double-checking paperwork. It wasn’t sustainable as we grew.”

“We were involved in the creation of the first version of MAYTAS (in 1984), so it’s more than just a system to us - it’s part of our journey.”

Since adopting MAYTAS, LTS has seen a transformation in how they manage apprenticeships. Data accuracy has improved dramatically, reporting is faster and more reliable, and ESFA/DfE returns are completed with confidence.

Looking ahead, LTS is preparing to upgrade to MAYTAS 6 (SaaS), excited about the additional functionality and modernisation it will bring.
“We see MAYTAS 6 as the next step in our evolution. It will help us stay ahead and continue delivering quality training in a fast-changing environment.”
